Christine Genest
Assistant Professor
Universit de Montral

Christine Genest is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Nursing of the Universit de Montral and Researcher at the Quebec Network on Nursing Intervention Research (RRISIQ). She is also head of the peer support program of her Faculty, which aims at supporting students during their studies. Her research interests concern postvention, nursing interventions in the context of suicidal behaviours, as well as the role of first respondents in the context of suicidal behaviours and the impact that these behaviours have on them. At present, she is carrying out two important research projects: the first project aims at adapting the safety net for suicidal patients seen in a hospitals Emergency Department; the second project focuses on understanding the impact of repeated exposure to trauma on first respondents. Christine Genest has completed a PhD in Nursing at the Universit de Montral. Her thesis focused on the resilience process of families bereaved by the suicide of a teenager. She has also worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at McGill Universitys Nursing School.
