Ral Labelle
Professor of Psychology and associate director of CRISE

Ral Labelle, M.Ps., Ph.D., is professor (tenured) of psychology at the Universit du Qubec Montral and associate professor of psychiatry at the Universit de Montral. He is associate director of the Centre for Research and Intervention on Suicide, Ethical Issues and End-of-Life Practices and researcher at the research centre of the Institut universitaire en sant mentale de Montral. He is a member of the Ordre des psychologues du Qubec since 1989. Dr. Labelle specialises in the study, evaluation and psychological treatment of mood disorders with or without suicidal behaviours. He is also an expert on cognitive behavioral therapy. He conducts his research mainly in hospitals, local community service centres, youth centres, voluntary housing centres and schools. He has co-authored and presented more than 150 articles and communications in journals and scientific conferences. Over the last years, he has been invited in France, Lebanon and Madagascar to teach cognitive and behavioral therapy in the treatment of mood disorders.
